The Outsiders

Welcome! After my 5th failed IUI I've decided to release my frustration with trying to get pregnant. I'm single and working on this on my own. Well not really, this truly is taking a village to make happen - a sperm bank, a sperm donor, my family doctor, the fertility clinic (nurses, doctors, lab techs...), my family and my friends, and of course... me. Update: On February 4, 2010 my daughter Rhian was born. It took 9 IUI's and 2 IVF cycles to get her here. But she is finally here!
Double yikes is right! Poor kiddo! Hope she's ok
ReplyDeleteThat looks painful. Poor thing. I hope she feels better.
ReplyDeletePoor baby girl :( Hoping she is better, quick!
ReplyDeleteThat looks awful! How was it treated?
ReplyDeleteOMG! What immunization was it?
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hope she's on the mend soon!
ReplyDeleteoh, no! I've never seen that happen before. Hope she is much better today!
ReplyDeleteShe had two shots that day - one in each arm. They think the reaction is from the measles/mumps/rubella shot since it was a booster, and she had a bit of a reaction at her 12 month shots. They did not treat it. Basically they ruled out an allergy since this didn't even start until a day or so after the shot, not right away. And they ruled out cellulitis (skin infection) because the rash was not presenting in a way consistent with an infection. So no antibiotics necessary. They think it was an immune response. So I'm just watching to make sure it doesn't get worse. It hasn't... But its still red and swollen today.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I hope that clears up soon and doesn't happen again. Hop you know which one caused it.
ReplyDeleteOUCH! That does NOT look good! I hope she's feeling better!
ReplyDeleteOk so we got confirmation that it was the diptheria/tetnus/polio vaccination that she is scheduled to get when she is 5. Her reaction is being reported to the board of health (or whatever it is called) to check to see if it was just a bad batch (my Dr. said Rhian was the second child to have a bad reaction to that lot number!). Yikes.
ReplyDeleteIts pertussis. Not polio in d.t.a.p. polio is eradicated in usa
