The bike with the front carrier! (excepting the sperm and IVF of course)
OMG Rhian loves this. Soooooo much. Today was glorious, we hopped on the bike (OK when you are trying to get a bike with baby out of a basement bike room, it involves more than just hopping on - but once we were out we hopped on!) and rode along the seawall to our first stop - the kids water park in Stanley park.
(No not my picture - and sorry, don't know who's it is - but I got it at the link above!)
Rhian is not normally nuts about splash pads - the fountains are pretty big at the one right by our place, and all the water overwhelms her. But at the kids park in Stanley park, there are places where there is some standing water she can play in, and places where the fountains are toddler sized. She loved it. And so did I. And I really loved that we just cycled there. Fun. Oh yeah .... free!
Our next stop: 3rd beach
(same as above - but apparently with no link! - And yes, it looked just like this today!)
It was busy there and getting late (for us on a Sunday afternoon anyway) so we parked the bike, walked in the sand, and stared at the "bubbles" - also known as the ocean! Damn she is funny.
We were having so much fun I forgot to take pictures. I always do that. Besides - its kinda hard to take the pictures when you are busy chasing after a very busy little girl.
As I was reading this, I thought this sounds like a beautiful dream. I'm so glad it came true for you and that you can enjoy these kind of Sunday afternoons! What a blessing!
Welcome! After my 5th failed IUI I've decided to release my frustration with trying to get pregnant. I'm single and working on this on my own. Well not really, this truly is taking a village to make happen - a sperm bank, a sperm donor, my family doctor, the fertility clinic (nurses, doctors, lab techs...), my family and my friends, and of course... me.
Update: On February 4, 2010 my daughter Rhian was born. It took 9 IUI's and 2 IVF cycles to get her here. But she is finally here!

I am here on a mission - or at least to write about my mission. I have a fantastic life. I love my job, and am very content with where I am career wise. I'm surrounded by the best of friends, and a loving, supportive family. But, just maybe, I've spent too much time up to now focusing on the career and not nearly enough focusing on the other important things in life.
So, here I am. 39. Single. And trying to have a baby.
Welcome to the rollercoaster!
Update: Rhian was born on February 4, 2010 after my second try at IVF. She is finally here!
